Panama remains one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the European market and the opening of new direct routes from Europe with a frequency of weekly flights further expands the range of options in response to the growing demand of travelers.
Only in the first four months of 2016 have a total of 68,192 travelers from Europe entered the Tocumen International Airport with the airlines KLM, Iberia, Airfrance and Lufthansa.
The main countries that have direct connections with these airlines are Spain, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
In recent months, Panama has strengthened as a hub for receiving direct flights, which has helped to strengthen the country’s commercial and investment development. The new Lufthansa-Frankfurt-Panama air route marked the beginning of a renewed phase in Panama’s promising future in terms of growth in travel demand. The German airline maintains a frequency of five direct weekly flights from Frankfurt, with Panama being the fourth direct connection with Europe.
The country’s connectivity through direct flights with major airlines continues to strengthen Panama as Hub of the Americas, which currently serves more than 89 destinations through 24 international airlines, which travel to some 35 countries in America and Europe.
Panama is a growing tourist and business destination that is increasingly attracting foreign interest and is being successfully promoted in major European catalogs for the impressive attractions it offers in history, culture, entertainment, beaches and ecotourism.
