More than half a million visitors entered our country during the months of January and February 2015 according to the official statistics of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, said the Administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP).
Visitors in January and February 2015 were 512,107. This represents an increase of 12.4% over the same period of 2014, with an absolute variation of 56,467 additional visitors.
Official statistics also indicate that 340,559 visitors visited the Tocumen International Airport in January and February 2015, an increase of 20%; with an additional 56,823 to the previous period in 2014.
The figures also state that the expenses incurred by visitors during their stay in the country during the period from January to February 2015 stood at 648.4 million dollars (excluding international transport), which means an increase of 18.4% over the year 2014 and an absolute variation of an additional 100.6 million dollars to the previous year.
