Panama Canal – Miraflores
First we will visit the Panama Canal, a fascinating engineering marvel that still today has state-of-the-art technology, is one of the most visited attractions in the city and one of the most important canals in the world. Not only will you have a unique experience visiting the Miraflores Visitors Center, but you will also be able to visit the 3D IMAX theater that presents a movie about the history of the Panama Canal offered in English and subtitled in Spanish. Leaving the Canal, we will make a stop at the Handicrafts Center.
Old Town
Then we head to the Old Town, declared a Historic Monument by UNESCO. Here you will find the Presidential Palace of the Republic, Las Bovedas, National Theater, Interoceanic Canal Museum, Colonial Religious Museum, Flat Arch (Arco Chato), San Joseph Church (with the “Golden Altar”), San Felipe de Neri Church, Cathedral Church, 5 Squares, among others. You can also find restaurants of all kinds outdoors, and be captivated by the music and varied shows that are often offered.
Amador Causeway
Then we will move to the Causeway of Amador, also known as the ‘Calzada de Amador’ (Amador Causeway). Next we will pass by the Biomuseo, where you can admire the unusual and colorful architecture. Then we will pass by the 3 islands until we reach the last one, Flamenco, where you can visit a Free Zone (Amphora Duty Free) for tourists and choose to have lunch of delicious meals in the restaurants of the area.
