Description
Monkey Island
Just 45 minutes from Panama City, we will travel through the Soberania National Park until we reach the town of Gamboa and embark on a fast boat on the Chagres River and then on the Canal’s Gatun Lake where we can get close to large ships that transit through the Canal. Then we will visit the Monkey Island and observe on the banks of the virgin islands the presence of White-faced Monkeys (also known as Capuchins), Titi (also known as Tamarins) and Howler Monkeys, toucans and other birds.
Sloth Sanctuary
To experience even more of the wild beauty of the Panamanian rainforest, we will visit the Gamboa Rainforest Resort on a 130 hectare site to delight in an exhibit where we will encounter sloths in captivity. In addition, we will visit other exhibitions of tortoises, frogs, and butterflies, and live with nature in an untouched environment, where explorers and pirates once walked.
