Panama Canal (Agua Clara)
The third set of locks has the new Expansion Observation Center in Colon and has a park-like concept with terraces and open platforms, roofed and staggered, in a wide area that allows visitors to appreciate an environment of admirable beauty surrounded by tropical nature, of the construction works of the new locks of the Panama Canal in the Atlantic. Likewise, from its privileged location, visitors can observe the majestic Gatun Lake, where ships continue their transit through the inter-oceanic waterway. Apart from being able to watch a movie about the expansion, there are trails in the place that you can walk along to be in contact with nature. It has a restaurant where you can watch the neo-panamax ships crossing. Come and experience it!
Fort San Lorenzo
It is located on top of a hill where you can see the mouth of the Chagres River in the province of Colon, just an hour and a half from Panama City. It is a historical, tourist and natural site considered one of the oldest Spanish fortresses in America. It is also considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This site formed the defensive system for the transatlantic trade of the Crown of Spain and is a magnificent example of military architecture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It is a submerged place in the San Lorenzo National Park where you will not only appreciate the grandeur of nature and the beauty of the sea, but also the magic of a place where pirates and corsairs once came.
