Fort San Lorenzo

Fort San Lorenzo is located on top of a hill where you can see the mouth of the Chagres River, in the province of Colón, at only an hour and a half from Panama City. It is a historical, tourist and natural site considered as one of the oldest Spanish fortresses in America. It is also considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This site formed the defensive system for the transatlantic trade of the Crown of Spain and constitute a magnificent example of the military architecture of the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a place immersed in the San Lorenzo National Park where you will not only appreciate the grandeur of nature and the beauty of the sea, but also the magic of a place where once pirates and corsairs came.
