Santa Clara Beach
On the Pacific coast in the interior of Panama, Playa Santa Clara is a white sandy wonderland, a favorite of locals and tourists alike. The beach stretches for miles and is surrounded by a blue ocean that invites you to swim and simply enjoy the beach.
Although visitors to Panama often overlook Playa Santa Clara, it has much to offer: serene waters, lovely stretches of sand and a wide variety of cabins and restaurants. Several of the cabins are beachfront and, like other destinations in the country, it is an ideal place to pitch a tent by the sea. There are also more established camping options, which can rent a hammock/shack for just a few dollars a night.
On weekdays, the beach is usually quieter and uncrowded. Visitors will have no trouble leisurely entertaining for hours or taking a long walk along the shore. On weekends, however, it is often crowded with locals, who can turn part of the beach into a fun party area. You can listen to loud music, even play soccer or drink beer on the sand. Without a doubt, it can be a good time for those in the mood to hang out and have fun. Even so, this beach is extensive, so those who prefer to have sandy spaces to themselves can stroll for a few minutes and find a quieter spot.
